Find apps with known security flaws

What it does for you

An old version of a trusted app can be the weakest point on a Mac. With threat data turned on, FireAI looks up the exact version of each app it has seen on the network in public vulnerability databases (NIST’s NVD, and CISA’s list of flaws known to be exploited) and lists the apps that need an update, for example “Docker 4.38.0 · 2 known security flaws. Update when you can.” Flagged apps also show up on the Threats page.

How it works

1. Turn on threat data in Threats (Use public threat data).
2. Open Threats. The card says “Your apps look up to date”, or “Apps that need an update” with each app and version.
3. Click Details for the flaws, then update the app from its own website or the App Store.
