# Quick rules: check before every other rule

> Mark a rule Quick on your Mac so it decides a connection before FireAI checks any of your other rules.

Make sure one rule always wins, no matter what else matches.

FireAI normally checks rules in its usual order. Turning on “Quick: check before every other rule” for a rule means the first matching Quick rule decides a connection before any other rule is even considered.

> **Note:** This is for the rare case where one rule must always win, for example a permanent Allow for a tool you never want a broader Block rule to catch.
