# Switch profiles automatically by Wi-Fi network

> Switch firewall profiles automatically by Wi-Fi network on your Mac by setting up a Home and a Work place, each with its own rules and mode.

**Where in FireAI:** Settings › Places

Set it up once, and FireAI keeps switching for you every time your Wi-Fi does.

1. Open Settings › Places.
2. Type a name under “New place name” and click Add Place — for example “Work”.
3. For that place, set a Protection level, or leave it at “Keep current”.
4. In “Wi-Fi networks (comma separated)”, type the network name, then click Add “<name>”. Repeat for another place, like your home network under “Home”.
5. Turn on “Switch place automatically when the Wi-Fi changes”.
6. If FireAI asks, click Allow Location… — macOS only reveals the current Wi-Fi name to apps with Location access.

> **Note:** Rules can be scoped to one place (in a rule’s Advanced settings) or left unscoped so they always apply. Auto-switching pauses while an activity profile is running, and resumes once it ends. See [places](https://hisnlabs.com/fireai/en/docs/rule-profiles-by-wifi) for what a place can control.
