# Allow only during work hours, or never at night

> Block or allow an app only during certain hours on your Mac by typing a plain-language order into Ask FireAI, such as “block Fortnite at night”.

Say it once in plain language, and FireAI keeps the schedule for you.

1. Open Home or the menu bar, and type your order into Ask FireAI.
2. For a rule that only blocks at night: “block Fortnite at night” or “never let Steam connect at night”.
3. For a rule that only allows during work hours: “allow Zoom during work hours”.
4. FireAI also understands “in the evening” and “on weekends”.
5. Review the preview, then click Apply.

> **Note:** At night means 22:00–07:00, work hours mean Monday to Friday 09:00–18:00, and evening means 18:00–22:00 — FireAI’s own clock, not a time you set per rule. The new rule then appears in Rules with its time window written into the rule’s sentence, but there’s no separate schedule picker to create or edit one directly there.
